Wow what a 2013 it has been! With historic events dominating the news, including the passing of our Maggie Thatcher, to more positive news such as the arrival of Prince George; it's been a year to remember.
More closer to home, we at Welwyn Hatfield Conservatives have seen our membership buck trends and grow, particularly with younger people joining, and we have seen an action packed social calendar, with memorable social events including our Supper Clubs and the new Curry Club for the under 30s. We've also helped raise thousends of pounds for various charities, including Isabel Hospice, The Royal British Legion and The Holocaust Educational Trust. We have formed our own charitable concern, with www.welhats.com knitting hats for our troops in Afghanistan. The campaign brought young and old together, knitting 3,000 hats, that's enough for half of our Forces there. It touched all who were involved. Watch this space for welhats 2014!
So as for next year, we have the Borough and European elections on the same day. Why not come and get involved, helping our excellent candidates help the community we love. We are always open to new ideas and new members. What are you waiting for? Make 2014 the year you change something in this world, by getting involved in positive politics.
