The festival of sport at Stanborough Lakes took place last weekend- supported by Councillors Fiona Thomson, Darren Bennett and local MP Grant Shapps. Grant was also racing against his wife Belinda, who, fresh from the London Marathon, beat both Grant and Darren!
Fiona volunteered along with hubby Graeme, son Connor and two friends, also local residents, Lisa and Jon from 6.30am; marshalling, handing out water and finisher medals to the competitors. What a fantastic local event for the community to get involved in, and we hope that Darren and Grant aim to beat Belinda next year!
As Health Champion for the Borough and ward councillor Fiona was delighted to be involved, and it was fantastic to see many of our local residents competing in the different events, and getting fit and healthy through exercise.
